Florence, Italy: The Palazzo Vecchio On The 10th Anniversary Of 9/11
Filed under Florence Italy, Noted

The Palazzo Vecchio is the town hall of Florence, Italy. The palazzo is located on the Piazza della Signoria, which was the focal point of the 13th century Florentine Republic and remains the political hub of the city today.
So it was a poignant moment for me to see that the Florentines had hung an American Flag from the Palazzo’s facade in memory of the victims of 9/11.
I’ve spent Christmas, New Years, Easter, May Day and the 4th of July in Italy. Even during holiday times, I’ve never felt disconnected from my country, traveling abroad, until today.
