For my birthday I’ve been immortalized in a playing card by my boyfriend and our friend Jeff.
My boyfriend did the artwork for LIFEBOAT, a card game, where players are pitted against each other as six different survivors of a Titanic-style shipwreck who must share the same Edwardian-era lifeboat. The game, which has a cult following because it’s hilarious, was designed by our friend Jeff Siadek, who owns Gorilla Games.
Since Lifeboat is selling so well, Jeff was approached at the SPEIL 2009 in Essen, Germany by international game distributors. The outcome: Lifeboat will finally be available in languages other than English (Spanish, French, German and Chinese to be exact) later this year!
The new character, Madame Wong, will be introduced as part of the “Liquid Courage” game expansion that will coordinate with international release of the game.
I forgive my boyfriend for including my eye bags and solitary dimple in his rendering of me, as my hair and makeup never look this good in real life.
And can I just say that I’m weirdly proud of my super high survival value?
