There was a lot of commotion over at the Speaker Bee hive today, so I went out to check on the rumpus. The bees were busy doing some spring cleaning, pulling the string that we’d used to tie the comb into the frames out the front door, and dumping it on the ground in front […]

Look who decided to supervise my work in the bee yard today. I turned to grab my smoker and almost tripped over her. I think we made eye contact because she squinted a little. Opossums are nocturnal, so who knows what she was doing up at four in the afternoon.

The grapefruit on the right is an average size grapefruit. The grapefruit on the left […]

Old enough to forget why I used to wear Doc Martens that protected my toes from getting stomped on to every concert instead of squishy, orthopedically correct, soccer mom shoes that kill any outfit. I went to The Specials show last night and now […]

I pined for a Cat In The Hat scarf my entire childhood. It’s the one thing the Kitting Ninja AKA Grandma Special Agent Phoenix ever denied me. (She hated weaving in the ends, so a striped scarf was out of the question). Thirty years later, I finally managed to knit myself a Cat In The […]
